To recap the more recent adventures of the FGES, between November 2024 and February 2025, the Shorts traveled to many locations in the United States during an epic cross-country road trip. I contemplated using one of the many photos I took wearing the Shorts at landmarks famous and not-so-famous across this great land for the competition, but not long after I returned to my home base in California, I received and invitation to attend the wedding of my BFF in Australia in September.
What a great opportunity, thought I. The Shorts "returning" to the Land Down Under. For those not familiar with the history, or in case you have forgotten, the reason for the quotation marks above is because the Shorts currently residing with me are actually the second pair used in this competition. The originals disappeared during their first and so far only sojourn to Oz.
So, without further ado, I present the official Freakin' Green Elf Shorts Caption Competition photo:
The rules are simple. Submit your caption(s) by 11:59 P.M. on December 31st, 2025. Yes, multiple entries are allowed. If you merely wish to comment, please be sure to specify that your comment is not a submission. You must own a blog to have your submissions considered. The winner must then host their own caption competition, with a picture of them actually wearing the Shorts. You may hide your face if your wish. No alteration of the Shorts is allowed.
A winner will be announced on January 7th. The winner will receive not just the Shorts, but also a few trinkets representing my location, anywhere from locally to regionally to nationally.
Please help spread the word by sharing this news on your own blog, if you have one.
Good luck! I can't wait to read (and judge) your witticisms. May you have a blessed and joyful holiday season.

Cool! The shorts look good.

I know. Sx. It's a bit of a pain in the arse, but it ensures that I am made aware each time someone leaves a comment.
DeleteBefore I try and come up with some captions, I just want to say: Yay! The Freakin' Green Elf Shorts Caption Competition is on again!!
ReplyDeleteAnd what a great idea to take them to Oz!
Thanks IDV.
DeleteWouldn't it be amazing if the NEW shorts met up with the missing OLD shorts? (this is not a caption, I'm not entering the competition.)
ReplyDeleteThat would a A LOT of DNA.
Delete"(Down) Under the Freakin' Green Elf Shorts grip of terror, Rimpy pleads for release!"
ReplyDeleteAlrighty! Our first entry! Thank you, IDV!
DeleteHello. I have not visited you before but have been aware and enjoyed the Saga of the Elf's shorts for a long time via the lovely Mr Device.
ReplyDeleteI shall not be adding a caption but will follow along to see who and where the Elfin Shorts travel to next.

Thank you, Madam Arcati, and welcome aboard.
DeleteRimpy announces that the Freakin’ Green Elf Shorts are to be made an UNESCO Heritage Site, and just like the Sidney Opera House they often contain huge organs.

P.S Yes, this is an entry for the competition.
Thanks, Scarlet. A second entry! Now it is a competition!
Delete"Watch out for Princess with a jar, Rimpy - The FGES are classed as an invasive species in Oz!"
ReplyDeleteP.S. Yes, like Ms Scarlet, I'm also entering the competition this time. My reasoning being that I haven't had the misfortune of handling this cloned pair of FGES; and I've also moved house since the last time so, if by chance I should win at some point, the 'Shorts (whether cloned or not) will be visiting somewhere new.
Excellent reasoning, IDV.
DeleteMy Goddess! As it really been two years? Already? Really?
ReplyDeleteI will be a sport.... I wonder how much tariff Trump will put on these Elf goods?
Time flies when you're a lazy and forgetful doof such as myself.
DeleteAnd here's another- "Just auditioning for the lead role in 'Elf: The Musical' at the Sydney Opera House. Wish me luck!
ReplyDeleteNice!
DeleteI left the Land of Aus just in time!
ReplyDelete(This is the best i can do til I've had some coffee)
See? Already the malevolence is creeping in...my first comment/caption has disappeared. And I forget what I said!
ReplyDelete"I left the Land of Aus just in time!" [my entry]
Oh, dear. I don't know what may have happened! Thanks for joining the fray, Dinahmow. Curious -- you say you left Oz. Where are you now?
